A Will is a legally binding document which evidences how you wish for your property, assets and responsibilities (e.g. any minor children) to be managed in the event of your death. The benefits of having a Will include security for your family in knowing how things are to be divided or managed, peace of mind for you knowing that your estate will be handled as per your wishes and generally avoids the need for court or contest.

WillSecure gives you the tools and legal supervision to help you create a legally binding Will.

It’s not like many other Will services which can be very limited and are no more than an online form or DIY Will kit, which could leave you at risk.

For persons with relatively simple personal and financial testamentary wishes and circumstances, a lawlab standard Will provides a number of benefits unparalleled compared to other Will kits or online Will service, such as:

Your lawlab standard Will has been drafted to comply with all the legal formalities required for a valid Will in all Australian jurisdictions. Once your instruction sheet is completed and signed it will become an informal Will until you sign the original. To ensure your lawlab standard Will is valid, a review process of the execution is conducted before being filed for safe deposit in lawlab’s secure digital storage known as "lawlab Vault".

Creation of the draft will can take as little or as long as you like - the data entry is in your hands with WillSecure. Once you complete your information and submit, it will be reviewed by our legal team and you will receive your draft will for signing within 2 business days*.

If your circumstances change, you should check your Will information and update as required to match your new circumstances. Depending on the changes this could be a new Will or an amendment. You should seek legal advice from lawlab in relation to this.

At this stage, a Will cannot be signed electronically and needs to be wet signed with two independent adult witnesses (who will also need to be present and sign when you do). We provide you with signing instructions when you get to this stage in the process.

Unfortunately, there is no register of Wills or a simple way to find it without knowing where you may have stored it or had it kept originally. If you are not sure or are unable to find your original, you can just create a new Will which overrides the previous.

To avoid the risk of misplacing your Will, sending your Will to our secure physical storage gives you comfort in knowing where your original document is safely stored. You can also advise your executor of the location of the Will so they know where to go if or when the Will is required.

An executor is the person who will ‘execute’ or carry out the administration required under your will. A beneficiary is the person who ‘benefits’ or receives the assets under your will, as it so directs.
